"It is always difficult to talk about the World Cup when Bafana is not there, but the reality is that the World Cup us here and we should enjoy the matches and what one can do is just enjoy this beautiful game of football so I’m looking forward to the matches," says Kekana.

The retired midfielder then gives his predictions about where the trophy is heading next.

"I have two teams and one is Belgium.

"They have been promising since I started following them.

"They have players all over the world and they have a structure that allows them to win matches.

"In the past seven years we thought they were going to win a major tournament, but they haven’t delivered, and I believe that with the current generation that they have they should try and win a trophy.

"This is a trophy that they deserve to win.

"On the other side, I have a soft spot for Lionel Messi simply because I met him in person, so I know what he puts in the game and I believe he deserves to win the World Cup," says Kekana.

Kekana faced Messi in May 2018 in a friendly international against Barcelona at FNB Stadium when the Argentine was still playing for the La Liga club.
