AmaZulu midfielder George Maluleka has given an honest assessment of his recent spell at Mamelodi Sundowns while sharing his delight at a return to regular action.
Maluleka completed a move to Durban back in August at the start of this season after an underwhelming three-year spell at Sundowns due to a lack of game-time.
The former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder has already made 15 appearances so far this season for Usuthu, with several eye-catching displays.
"I don't remember anymore, I've been with AmaZulu for almost six months now," Maluleka said tongue-in-cheek when asked to reflect on his time at Sundowns.
"What happened at Sundowns, I don't remember. I'm at AmaZulu, and I am enjoying my time.
"I had a good time at Sundowns. Not everything will go smooth in your career.
"I don’t think Sundowns was as bad as people make it out to be.
"Whenever I played, I did well, I played well. I didn’t play much, but that's okay. I'm very happy I went to Sundowns, I'm happy I left.
"I'm happy I'm at AmaZulu, I'm happy I'm playing again.
"It's looking good, I feel good, I'm happy."
Maluleka went on to detail what lies ahead for an exciting Usuthu team aiming for CAF Champions League qualification in the remainder of the season.
"I'm just excited because of the team we have, I think we possess a lot of aggressiveness as you guys can see.
"The break makes it possible for us to sharpen our swords to be able to come back for the second half.
"It's going to be really difficult so we have to hit the ground running when we come back."
