Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene has revealed some of his post-playing career plans for when he eventually hangs up his gloves.

Zambia international Kennedy Mweene was one of a host of PSL stars who recently graduated from the league's newly-created Player Transition Programme which seeks to "equip and empower [players] with the necessary knowledge and skills to transition into a role in sport after they have retired."

The 37-year-old has since revealed that he is planning to use the lessons and skills learned in the programme towards the daily running of his farm and that he intends to further his studies in the near future.

"I give thanks to the club for the support they gave me, it possible for me to be able to focus on my studies and for that I am grateful. We had eight modules that we were studying," Mweene told Sundowns' website.

"My key takeaway from the whole programme was the fact that we are now able to ask questions because at first we did not understand. Like for myself I have a farm now. I have keen interest in its daily running and some of the things I picked up during the course.

"In the future I want to do a Project Management Degree or Diploma and with online learning I will get a chance to pursue the qualification."

The veteran goalkeeper joined Masandawana from Free State Stars in 2013 and has made no fewer than 119 appearances for the club across all competitions, keeping 56 clean sheets in the process.

He is also Zambia's most-capped player of all-time with 122 official appearances for the national team to his name, and 127 in total, and was part of the Chipolopolo side which famously won the 2012 CAF Africa Cup of Nations.
