Maritzburg lost 1-0 to Sundowns on Wednesday before playing to a goalless draw with Arrows at Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday.
Davids believes his team deserved to come away with a 3-0 scoreline against Abafana Bes'thende despite showing signs of fatigue in KwaMashu.
"I could see in the last 10 minutes of the game the effects on our players the intensity of the Sundowns game. They couldn't really get going into the final stretch, the final push," Davids told his club's website.
"But it’s understandable, it was a high intensity game. Arrows had a full week to recover. But I think overall we had the better chances to win the game easily. In the second half their goalkeeper made a fantastic save.
"We really went for it in the second half with all our chances, hitting the post, goalkeeper making brilliant saves. I think 3-0 would have been a fair score, taking into account our second-half performance.
"We got into positions, but just not finishing it off. We have to work on the final decision, the final shot, because we get into the areas we want to, in terms of our structure, in terms of our build-up play, but we have to work on it to score more goals. Defensively we were very good, we did well to control the Arrows counter-attacks."
The Team of Choice are ninth on the Premiership table with 18 points from 14 games, and will resume their campaign against Ajax Cape Town at Cape Town Stadium on January 5.
