Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lucky Baloyi has confirmed his transfer status after being offloaded by Maritzburg United just under a year after signing the Team of Choice.

Baloyi has been amongst the seven players released by Maritzburg following the return of Fadlu Davids as head coach.  

The Team of Choice has similarly offloaded Given Mashikinya, Lelethu Skelem, Isaac Masia, Zukile Kewuti, Tshidiso Monamodi, and Thato Lesenyeho.

Mashikinya has since joined Sekhukhune United following.

Baloyi featured in 13 games since coming in from Royal AM in January.

His game time contribution was on the drop this term with five appearances and a return of one goal.

The 31-year-old didn’t play a single game from start to finish this season and confirms that he has left.

“Yes, I have left Maritzburg, and I don't have a team for now," Baloyia said.

Baloyi is a former Under-20 captain who has also played for Kaizer Chiefs, Moroka Swallows, Bloemfontein Celtic, and Royal AM.
