Kaizer Chiefs remain in the bottom three on the DStv Premiership table after coming from behind to draw 1-1 with ten-man Marumo Gallants on Sunday afternoon.

Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane made one change from their goalless draw against AmaZulu as Keagan Dolly came in for Khama Billiat, while Ismail Watenga started in goal for Gallants

Gallants had their noses in front on 12 minutes after Mahlatse Makudubela met a pin-point ball over the top and ran clear before firing into the bottom-corner.

The Amakhosi looked for a quick comeback minutes later with a snap-shot from a smart angle by full-back Dillon Solomons, but he found the side-netting.

Chiefs pushed forward again inside a few minutes and had a smart header from defender Njabulo Ngcobo parried by Gallants goalkeeper Watenga.

Another promising opening for the Amakhosi came on the stroke of halftime where Ashley Du Preez dragged a shot from a smart area well wide of target.

Chiefs turned to the bench at halftime and brought on Burundian forward Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana for midfielder George Matlou.

The lanky forward offered the Amakhosi a different dimension up top moments from entering as the runs that he made around the area brought uncertainty amongst the Gallants defence.

Further additions from the visiting bench came ten minutes after the halftime period where Sabelo Radebe entered and Siyethemba Sithebe made way for the hard-running midfielder.

Gallants though were reduced to ten players midway in the second half with Olivier Toure dismissed for a dangerous high-foot challenge on Du Preez.

The Amakhosi camped in the half of Gallants and levelled after Zitha Kwinika headed in at the far post following a flick-on from Sifiso Hlanti’s free-kick.

Chiefs pushed for the winner during the remaining seconds, but Gallants remained tight and 1-1 was how it concluded in Rustenburg.
