Mixed reactions to Orlando Pirates' coaching change

Orlando Pirates made a rather surprising announcement of a new permanent head coach on Tuesday, but what do people think of the appointment of Josef Zinnbauer?

Zinnbauer has been announced as the permanent replacement for Milutin Sredojevic, with the German tactician set to take the reigns from Rhulani Mokwena, who served as interim coach.

Mokwena held the hotseat since August, guiding Pirates to four wins, six losses and five draws in his 15 games in charge, with many having grown impatient with the young prodigy.

The 32-year-old earned most of his experience as an assistance and youth coach, but was widely supported by peers and supporters who felt he had the qualities to grow into his role as The Buccaneers' long-term mentor.

However, club chairman Irvin Khoza couldn't sit by any longer and watch the budding coach stumble as results failed to materialise and jumped at the opportunity to snap up a former Hamburger and St. Gallen manager with substantially more experience.

The 49-year-old, though, has received a mixed reaction given his record of having yet to lift silverware in his career, while his win-ratio has also come as a cause for a concern.
