Reported Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns target Moeketsi Makhanya says he will beat Collins Mbesuma's 25-goal single season record if he signs for a PSL giant.

The JDR Stars striker has been strongly linked with a move to any one of the big Absa Premiership teams after scoring 12 goals this season and being named the ABC Motsepe League player of the tournament for the playoffs back in June.

In the 2004/05 Castle Premiership season 'Ntofontofo' netted 35 times in all competitions for Kaizer Chiefs and scored 25 in the league.

Now 24-year-old Makhanya, who has been dubbed the next Percy Tau, believes he can easily achieve that feat.

"The league is still not finished, maybe the offers are still on," Makhanya tells when asked about the reported interest from Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns.

"I'm not sure because they are talking to my chairman. Ja I'm ready, because I've promoted them [JDR]. They said I should play one more season, I did. It's time I joined a new family. That was our deal.

"I don't have a specific team that I love actually, any team with pressure like Chiefs and Pirates. I love pressure, I'm not afraid of it. But I will accept any PSL offer.

"I don't have an agent. I can bring goals to the PSL. I want to at least beat Mbesuma's 25 goals and bring new records. This season I've scored 12 already. Last season in the Vodacom League I scored 27.

"I'm a striker, I'm a winger. I can fit in easily in the football that is played by Sundowns and Pirates. Chiefs as well. Yes, they play high balls but contact is too much. I want to play in the PSL next season."

JDR owner and coach Nditsheni Nemasisi confirms there has been interest in the player, but made it clear there is nothing official from Chiefs, Pirates or Sundowns.

"Err... the interest in the boy obviously they will always want him. But I've got only two teams that have enquired about him you know. The teams that have enquired are Ajax Cape Town and Baroka," Nemasisi says.

"But with both teams I've told them I can only engage at the end of the season because we are also in a position that we might go to the playoffs.

"So we cannot engage on selling any player at the moment because we don't know where we will be playing. These other ones I don't know, I just read in the newspapers."
