The Limpopo-based side have made a poor start to the 2018/2019 season as they currently sit in 13th position on the log with only one win from eight matches, and next face neighbours Black Leopards at the so-called 'slaughterhouse' that is Thohoyandou Stadium.
Fifteenth-placed Lidoda Duvha also enter the game with problems of their own as they will look to bounce back from the 4-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of SuperSport United.
Kgaswane, who arrived at Bakgaga in January 2017, has worked under a number of coaching changes at the club.
"So far so good because he's a coach that likes ball-playing players," Kgaswane tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"I will say it doesn't take a day to understand the type of play the coach wants, but for now I will say it's getting there ... even the way the team plays you can tell. All in all I will say now we understand his philosophy. He likes those players that believes in themselves, ball-playing players and hard-working players.
"We failed to win the last game (Baroka 0-0 Free State Stars) but we both know that it's a derby so it's not gonna be an easy game. We know that, but it's not like we are going there just to honour our fixture. It's a derby like I said, it's gonna be hard."
The Botswana international feels the coaching change could be responsible for his side's slow start to the season, while he is unsure why their neighbours are battling since gaining promotion to the topflight.
"On Baroka's side I would say maybe it's the new coach and new players, us trying to adjust to the changes.
"But on the Leopards side I would be lying, I don't know."
