Neutral venue for NFD trophy handover

accreditation

The Premier Soccer League has decided to keep the National First Division trophy and medals at a neutral venue during Sunday's final round of fixtures.

Both Stellenbosch and Royal Eagles stand an equal chance of winning automatic promotion as they are only separated by two points.

First-placed Stellenbosch host Maccabi FC at Idas Valley Sports while second-placed Eagles visit Ubuntu Cape Town, who will be fighting to avoid relegation at Athlone Stadium.

According to a statement from the PSL, the trophy will be kept at a venue that will make it easily reached from either of the two stadiums at full-time.

The goal difference (+24 for Stellenbosch +21 for Eagles) means that a draw might not be enough for top-of-the-table Stellenbosch.

Both games kick off at 15h00 on Sunday.
