The Zimbabwean frontman was unveiled as one of the Glamour Boys’ eight new signings last week, joining the Soweto giants from local club Chicken Inn.
And the 26-year-old says he’s ready to put in the hard yards and prove himself while fulfilling his role as a centre forward.
“I’m ready to work, and I’m ready to deliver,” he told his club’s Youtube channel. “As a striker, my job is to score, and I will make sure I will score. I’m going to work on that.”
John Paintsil, who has been roped in as Steve Komphela’s assistant, then issued a rally cry to the Amakhosi faithful, urging their full support for the coming campaign.
“As we all know, we can’t play football without the fans,” the Ghanaian said. “Without the fans we are nobody. So as the new season starts, I’d like to ask fans to come in their numbers, and they should know that each and every player here [at Chiefs] loves the fans.”
Chiefs take on city rivals Orlando Pirates in the new season’s curtain-raiser, the Carling Black Label Champions Cup, on 30 July.
