Midfielder Yusuf Maart was shown a red card for preventing a clear-cut goalscoring opportunity in the 31st minute as the Soweto giants were reduced to 10 men.
Despite a numerical disadvantage, Chiefs broke the deadlock in the 61st minute as Dillan Solomons converted from the penalty spot.
"About today's game, I haven't played in a long time," Ngcobo told SuperSport TV post-match.
"I think it's because of how we worked together that we got the three points today.
"You could see that we were pushing, even when we were a man down.
"I think I've matured in my game, I've learned a lot, especially from coach Arthur, even though I still have a lot of work to do.
"But I think the way I'm playing will help the team a lot."
Chiefs next face a trip to Cape Town City in a DStv Premiership encounter on Tuesday.
Kick-off is at 19:30.
