Nhlanhla Kubheka wishes Kaizer Chiefs could sign six Bidvest Wits players

A former Kaizer Chiefs star has expressed his regret that Amakhosi have been unable to snap up Bidvest Wits players like their rivals have been doing.

Wits players have been on sale since it was confirmed the club has sold its PSL status selling to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzhivhandila owner Lawrence Mulaudzi.

Mulaudzi plans to move the team to Limpopo next season, pending PSL approval of the takeover, but many Wits stars prefer to remain in Gauteng.

Thulani Hlatshwayo and Deon Hotto have already agreed to join Orlando Pirates while Mamelodi Sundowns are close to signing Haashim Domingo, Ricardo Goss and Gift Motupa.

Chiefs have had to sit back and watch all these quality players go to their rivals due to their FIFA transfer ban, which is being appealed in September.

"If I had powers, I would take at least six players to join Chiefs, they have so many top players," Nhlanhla Kubheka tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"Tyson I think he's one of the greatest players ever produced in the country."

Sifiso Hlanti and Thabang Monare have been linked to Chiefs for a while, with tentative rumours emerging again now that their Wits futures are in doubt.

"Then you also have Thabang Monare and Sifiso Hlanti, who are really good and have the potential to do well at Kaizer Chiefs," Kubheka adds.

"They can really make a huge difference at the club, especially that left-back. Chiefs needs someone."

The problem for Chiefs is that they are still waiting to hear back from FIFA and CAS about whether their transfer ban can be suspended until their appeal is heard.

As things stand, Amakhosi cannot sign any players until after the January 2021 transfer window.
