Free State Stars coach Nikola Kavazovic was not a happy man after his side drew 1-1 with Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.

Stars drew first blood against Amakhosi in the 53rd minute thanks to a strike by Sibusiso Hlubi but Chiefs levelled matters in the 65th minute through a penalty converted by Daniel Cardoso.

There was drama when Leonardo Castro fell inside the box resulting in the spot-kick, with the Stars bench convinced it was not a penalty and they remonstrated by hauling players out of the pitch.

It was only after a few minutes that the referee persuaded the Ea Lla Koto players to return to the pitch, where the majority of them were almost heading towards the tunnel.

“I came for this interview because that’s my obligation. I’m not the coach of Kaizer Chiefs so I can’t afford to pay the charge for not coming to the interview,” Kavazovic told SuperSport TV.

“All I have to say is that I’m more than proud of my players, my staff and management of the club and goodbye,” he said and stormed out of the interview.

The Bethlehem outfit are in danger of being relegated as the stalemate left them languishing third from bottom with 27 points, only a point adrift of bottom side Maritzburg United with one match to go.
