Kaizer Chiefs star Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has credited his teammates after winning the PSL Goal of the Month award for December.

Ngcobo, who netted twice for the Amakhosi during December, opened his account for the season in style at the start of the month during the club's 2-0 win over Sekhukhune United when he fired home an unstoppable left-footed effort from range.

The 22-year-old's strike earned him the league's Goal of the Month award and will be a contender for the coveted Goal of the Season accolade as well, but he was quick to pay homage to his teammates for the role they played in him finding the back of the net.

"I think it was a good goal but we created the goal as a team," Ngcobo said after receiving his award.

"The way we shifted and circulated the ball was very good and with Njabulo Blom finding me in the half-spaces, I was able to turn and finish. I think I was just there to finish but it was a well-worked goal from the whole team.

Chiefs fell to a 1-0 defeat to Royal AM in their subsequent match before Ngcobo was on the scoresheet again in a 2-0 win over Maritzburg United, helping the club end the year in fourth position in the league standings.

Ngcobo was one of Chiefs' leading goalscorers across the 2021 calendar year
