'Tyson' and Hotto were finally unveiled at Orlando Pirates four months since the news was first confirmed by snl24.com/kickoff in June, when it became clear that Bidvest Wits would be sold to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.
While the league was on hold as the Covid-19 pandemic hit Mzansi, the two players as well as Pirates bided their time patiently until Monday, when The Buccaneers finally unveiled their new star players.— Deon Hotto (@DeonHotto) September 21, 2020
The former Students will provide Josef Zinnbauer's squad with a wealth of experience in the South African top-flight and international level, with Hlatshwayo the current Bafana Bafana captain and Hotto a permanent fixture with Namibia.
Both players also featured at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, and Bucs chairman Khoza alluded to their proven pedigree when announcing their arrivals in an official statement.
"We are pleased to welcome Thulani [Hlatshwayo] and Deon [Hotto] to the club," Khoza said. "These are two players who have a proven pedigree both at club and international level.
"We are confident that they will complement the team that we have assembled. I must thank all those who were involved in the negotiations."
