Orlando Pirates news: Nominees for Pirates Player of the Month - September

accreditation

The Buccaneers have released their list of six nominees for their LG Player of the Month crown, with several stars reappearing from the August nominees.

Mlambo, who bagged the prize last month, is once again up against influential winger Vincent Pule, midfield partner Ben Motshwari, skipper Happy Jele and striker Augustine Mulenga.

The only new face on the list is attacking midfielder Thembinkosi Lorch, who was one of two standout players for the club in September.

Lorch and Pule each contributed two goals and two assists, and proved instrumental as Pirates collected seven points from three games to close the month at the top of the Absa Premiership standings.

Mlambo and Motshwari both continued their partnership in midfield, although their influence was not as great as their attacking colleagues.

Jele also started all three outings; however, the team conceded four goals and narrowly avoided defeat to Cape Town City, as they settled for a 2-2 draw at Orlando Stadium.

Mulenga, meanwhile, managed one goal and an assist.

Supporters have been afforded the responsibility to decide who the most deserving of the sextet is, by simply visiting the club's official social media channels and communicating their preferred choice.
