Rakhale spent last season on loan at City where he showed some improved performances towards the end of the PSL season.
The former Sivutsa Stars midfielder has since rejoined Bucs for their pre-season training camp in Mbombela, which started yesterday.
"He is back at Pirates and training with the club. He is ready to work hard and fight for his position at Pirates," says his agent Mandla Mthembu.
Meanwhile Orlando Pirates are expected to sign striker Tebogo Masaole from Santos.
