Orlando Pirates reveal Goal of the Month nominees

accreditation

August's winner Vincent Pule will have an opportunity to retain his crown after making the cut with both his goals scored last month.

However, this time he faces slightly stiffer competition from the likes of reserve team midfielder Simiso Bophela, Thembinkosi Lorch and Augustine Mulenga.

Bophela netted an absolute stunner in the Bucs' Multichoice Diski Challenge clash against AmaZulu last month, driving a left-footed shot into the top right hand corner from an acute angle.

Lorch, who also earns two spots on the list, hit his first goal of the season against SuperSport United as he sent a low, right-footed effort beyond Ronwen Williams' outstreched arm.

Pule's opening effort against Matsatsantsa also makes its way onto the list after he cleverly chested Innocent Maela's cross into the back of the net from close range.

Mulenga joins them with what may not be one of his best goals for the club, but his well-placed left-footed strike in Pirates' 2-2 draw with Cape Town City was certainly good enough to beat Peter Leeuwenburg.

Pule returns with that thunderous shot against Black Leopards, after he neatly brought the ball down with his chest, controlled it with his left foot and venomously hit it past Rotshidzwa Muleka.

Finally, Lorch completes the list with his tap-in against Lidoda Dhuva after a blunder by Muleka allowed him to sneak the ball into an empty net from Pule's well-hit long-range pass.
