The Buccaneers are reportedly looking to firmly stamp out a series of controversies that have plagued a number of first-team players.
Zungu was confirmed to have been suspended by Pirates after being charged by Police on Sunday.
The KwaZulu-Natal-born midfielder is due to appear in court on Monday to face the police charges.
This is the latest in a series of controversies for the club this season after both Thembinkosi Lorch and Ben Motshwari were arrested while Malawian striker Gabadinho Mhango also made headlines.
According to an Orlando Pirates official, the club is set to yield the axe on several players at the end of the season due to ill discipline.
"There is no secret about the number of ill-disciplined cases at the club," the official reveals to KickOff.
"The chairman is not happy as this also has an impact on the brand of Orlando Pirates.
"Zungu is one of the players who is set to leave Orlando Pirates at the end of the season."
The former Stellenbosch FC midfielder has made just one appearance for Pirates this season.
