Orlando Pirates centre-back and club captain Innocent Maela has revealed what he believes was the change in mindset that helped the side change its' fortunes.
After three consecutive defeats, the Buccaneers have collected all six points from their last two DStv Premiership games after a 3-1 win against Golden Arrows and a 4-1 hammering of Stellenbosch.
Both score lines were the highest the Buccaneers have scored this season and have plummeted the side back into the top four, after sinking to eight position
Meala, who scored one of those goals, has opened up on the changes within the squad.
"After the results that didn't go our way, we had a couple of meetings and we made to be honest with each other," Maela told the club's media.
"The evident change so far is that [now] we're scoring more goals and when you score goals you always have a good chance of winning matches."
On scoring his first goal of the season, Maela said: "getting the goal was so important for the team to make sure that we get the second goal and make things a little bit easier for us.
"For me personally, it's always great to score and contribute and help the team get the three points."
The skipper has been one of Pirates most-relied players this season, missing just two of the Buccaneers’ 20 games across all competitions this season.
