Bafana will host the first match at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday (15h00) before contesting the return duel at Stade Linite on Tuesday (15h30 SA time).

Stuart Baxter's men were held to a disappointing goalless draw by Libya in Durban last month, having started their qualifying campaign with an impressive 2-0 win over Nigeria in Uyo.

However, South Africa are expected to heap more misery on the Group E whipping boys, who have conceded eight goals in two defeats to Libya and Nigeria.

"It's been tough for us as the national team but we know what we are doing," said Orlando Pirates' Maela.

"We believe in the team, we believe in the coach. We are just looking forward to the games.

"But there's no pressure on us as a players, there's no pressure on us as the national team. We know what we have to do. We believe in our coach.

"When you represent your country there's always bigger expectations, we know that.

"The country needs you to perform at the best of your abilities so that we win and make them proud."

Maela is vying with Bidvest Wits' Sifio Hlanti for international game-time.

The top two nations in each group will qualify for the AFCON finals, taking place in Cameroon from June 15 to July 13 next year.

The tournament has been expanded from 16 to 24 teams.
