Jele’s future with Pirates remains uncertain with the club still yet to confirm his contract situation.
The 35-year-old defender has had a remarkable career since joining the club as a teenager in 2006 from Walters Stars. Jele has gone on to win many trophies including a treble during his stay with the Mighty Buccaneers.
According to sources close to Pirates, the club is believed to be assessing the long-serving captain’s situation, with Royal AM now showing interest in the Mpumalanga-born defender.
“The club is going to meet him soon to determine his future. There is already huge interest to sign him. Royal AM are keen and watching his situation at Pirates,” said the source.
Pirates have parted ways with a number of players including the likes of Ntsikelelo Nyauza, Thulani Hlatshwayo, Bongani Sam and Lindo Mntambo.
