Veteran midfielder Oupa Manyisa has declared this season's DStv Premiership title race as over with Mamelodi Sundowns almost out of sight at the summit of the standings.

Sundowns lead the race as they negotiate their way towards a fifth consecutive title with a cushion of 14 points over second-placed Royal AM.

Kaizer Chiefs are third with games in hand, while Orlando Pirates are also in the chasing pack in fourth position on 35 points.

"It is gone," responds Manyisa when asked about the title during the Off the Pitch programme on Youtube presented by Mallo Ramoshaba.

Manyisa was in the studio with close friend Brighton Mhlongo to discuss their new app named My Football CV.

"I'm hoping that something happens," says Mhlongo to which Manyisa asks ‘hope for who?’

"I'm hoping that Pirates do something. I'm exercising my right by saying this so why are you destroying all of that," says Mhlongo.

For Manyisa, who was a league winner for all of the three years that he spent at Chloorkop between 2017-20, he emphasizes on that this race is over.

"It is done and dusted. Sundowns are gone.

"With the Champions League they are on and off so we will see after the group stages because that is where the real thing starts," says Manyisa.

Sundowns have already won their CAF Champions League group with so much ease and must now await who they are drawn against of the teams that finish as runners-up likely to be ES Setif/AmaZulu, Esperance/Belouizdad and Wydad Casablanca/Petro de Luanda.

The 33-year-old has this season been playing with Platinum City Rovers where he is using his influence and experience to good effect with the GladAfrica Championship rookies.
