Oupa Manyisa has had to watch from the sidelines as Andile Jali cements his place in the Mamelodi Sundowns midfield this season.
Manyisa is still nursing a long-term achilles tendon injury picked up during the Shell Helix Cup friendly against Kaizer Chiefs in Johannesburg last year.
All the while, his former Orlando Pirates teammate has been reviving his career and looks back to his old best in the heart of Pitso Mosimane's side.
He has since revealed that he is make steady progress in terms of his recovering from injury.
"It's coming alright. I have been doing rehabilitation and started jogging. We will see when I am going to be ready to play again," says Manyisa.
Manyisa's contract with Sundowns is due to expire in June this year, and the 31-year-old says he will discuss his future with The Brazilians at the end of the season.
"We will start discussing about that at the end of the season. For now I am focusing on my rehabilitation so that I can go and play football again," he adds
Other Sundowns members' contracts up for renewal include Hlompho Kekana, Anele Ngcongca and coach Pitso Mosimane.
