The Namibia international found the net 23 times last season as Masandawana cruised to a fifth successive title, but didn’t start this campaign from where he left until the Amakhosi came to town.
“I would like to thank the supporters, teammates and the technical team for believing in me. You know in life, everything just comes at the right time,” Shalulile told SuperSport TV.
“You know, when you are patient, these are the rewards. I believe that God has made this day possible for me because I hadn’t scored. I guess he came through for me and I like to thank God really for this amazing day.
“You should know, it’s all about the believe. They believe in me and I believe in them. We believe all in God, we know you cannot suffer for long.
“Eventually, breakthrough needs to come and you see now that this is the breakthrough and I believe this is all I wanted - to score goals and I believe there is more to come,” he said.
When asked if he is on penalty duty this season, he added, “Ja, definitely because I’ve been training penalties and they believe I can take all the penalties. So, for me moving forward it is just to score every game, score every opportunity I get and hopefully break the record again."
