Pirates were handed a R100 000 fine, suspended for a year on condition that they are not found guilty of the same offence, after being found guilty last week.
At the centre of the storm are skirmishes caught on video which happened on December 11 in the build up to their league against TS Galaxy.
Galaxy boss Tim Sukazi was manhandled through being denied entry at the door leading to the dressing rooms and pitch despite having all relevant access accreditation.
"I can confirm that Orlando Pirates Football Club has elected to take the DC ruling in respect of its case pertaining to the manhandling of Mr Sukazi on appeal as they are perfectly entitled to do so.
"That appeal will be adjudicated upon under the auspices of SAFA and once that matter has been finalised, I will confirm the outcome thereof," says Zola Majavu, the PSL prosecutor.
Pirates won the match in question 2-0 courtesy of goals from Bandile Shandu and Collins Makgaka.
Sukazi has spoken out at length about the incident along with the punishment handed down by the PSL.
