A 0-0 draw against Bloemfontein Celtic at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday night means the Tshwane side have registered only one goal during the aforementioned run of games.

Five weeks ago, after beating fellow title challengers Bidvest Wits, Sundowns were two points behind the Clever Boys with three games in hand but now lie six points back having played only a single game less.

With games in hand having certainly not equated to points on the board, the Brazilians' are finding the defence of their domestic league title to be a tougher ask than originally anticipated.

A visibly agitated Mosimane spoke with SuperSport TV following the game and felt it necessary to emphasise the quality that his side possess, despite their slump.

"It's life. If you want to be emotional with it and you don't think properly, you can be emotional. These are the champions of Africa, champions of South Africa. These are the Super Cup winners," he said.

"It does happen [dips in results], what am I supposed to do if the ball doesn't want to cross the line? I know what this team is capable of doing.

"We must go through this, we can't buy a win. We don't blame anybody. The ball must cross the line and must go in and that's it."
