Pitso Mosimane still waiting on PSL prosecutor for Wayne Arendse case verdict

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says his club is still waiting for the PSL to confirm the date of the verdict in the Wayne Arendse case.

Sundowns were found guilty of ineligibly fielding the defender in a league match against Bidvest Wits at Lucas Moripe Stadium last year.

The PSL was supposed to have delivered the verdict last week Friday but Sundowns requested a postponement because the team was out of the country to play in the CAF Champions League.

Mosimane remains uncomfortable speaking about the league race when there is still the possibility of his club being docked points.

"You cant talk about league race when you don’t know how many points you have. You don’t know what you have, how can you say how many points you're going to get? You don’t know what you have," said Mosimane.

"We are still waiting, a lot of postponements because we were outside the country and the prosecutor told you he doesn’t know when we are outside the country. He told you that he has to play with his children and eat with his children [over the long weekend] before so we have to wait a little bit."

'Jingles' says he hopes that similar events don’t repeat itself again next season after being in almost the same situation as the case of Tendai Ndoro and Ajax Cape Town last season.

"It's a little bit sad for me because last year I could see it, not knowing how many points you need to win the league mathematically because there is Ajax Cape Town [case] pending and you never know if other people will be given those three points from Ajax with the Ndoro issue, and you never know," he explained.

"This year we're going again, we don’t know how many points we have, we don’t know how many to be docked so whether the league race is there or not, we don’t know.

"It's a pity it has to go like this. I hope next year it won't be like this. Let's all play whoever wins, wins."
