After leading the Urban Warriors to victory from the bench on Sunday, Sonwabile Mfecane and Kegan Johannes started, as Leopards welcomed back star striker Mwape Musonda from suspension.
The Urban Warriors' game plan was thrown into disarray in the 13th minute as top scorer Abednego Mosiatlhaga pulled up injured and was replaced by Chumani Butsaka.
Lidoda Duvha were up and running just before the cooling break after Musonda showed up inside the danger area to sweep Tiklas Thutlwa’s cutback into the bottom corner.
Ajax finished the half the strongest after Roderick Kabwe’s 30-metre drive had Leopards goalkeeper King Ndlovu at full stretch, and he parried Eleazar Rodgers’ glancing header a little later.
Ndlovu was at full stretch again after parrying Mfecane’s diving header from point-blank range in time added on following a ball from the left-side.
Leopards opted for a substitution straight after half-time, as Andriamirado Andrianarimanana made way for veteran Malawian midfielder Robert N’gambi.
Lidoda Duvha had chances to double their advantage soon after the interval, but Thabo Matlaba along with Musonda could not capitalise as the Urban Warriors lived another day.
Ajax battled to break through the hosts following the closing stages of the match with Johannes volleying well off target while Ndlovu denied Mohau Mokate from close-range.
In the end, Lidoda Duvha had done enough to start their play-off campaign on a brighter note while Ajax have it all to do again next Tuesday against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzhivandila.
