PSL chairman Irvin Khoza on Friday announced that the 2020/21 season will kick-off on October 8, following the completion of the current unfinished 2019/20 campaign.
The transfer window to accompany the new season will open on Septemer 22 and will run for eight weeks until November 17.
This revised dates for the January, otherwise known as mid-season, transfer window have also been shift by a month from February 1-28.
These developments are all as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, which halted football for four months while the country observed strict lockdown conditions.
Whether the new season will also be played in a similar setting of the biologically safe environment as the completion of the current campaign, Khoza could not confirm until further directives are issued by government on the national lockdown.
"The bubble is an expensive thing to have, that's why we said that the application of the BSE is going to assist us as to whether it will be a template for the future or not," said Khoza during his media briefing on Friday.
"For now we can't say anything because we don't know what the government is figuring out in terms of the [lockdown] levels or the sensitivity and severity of the pandemic.
"We will wait and see at that particular time [October] and come up with a strategy to mitigate whatever has been presented to us, for us to go forward and continue with the games."
