accreditation

In August this year Tinyani will turn 47, which is the cut-off age for domestic referees.

Phillip Shumani Tinyani, who was born in a village called Dzimauli in Limpopo, made his first PSL appearance in the 2003/04 season in a clash between Silver Stars and AmaZulu.

According to a SAFA official who wanted to remain anonymous, police officer Tinyani has reached the age where FIFA wants referees to stop officiating.

"The cut-off age for referees is 46 or 47 years, and internationally it's 45," the source tells snl24.com/kickoff.

Contacted for comment, SAFA head of referees Abdul Basit confirms the news.

"Yes, Phillip Tinyani I think is turning 47 this year, and it will be his last season in the PSL."
