Robyn Johannes knows Cape Town City have to be at their best against Bidvest Wits tonight

City currently lead the standings on goal difference over Kaizer Chiefs, with both teams on 45 points, while the Clever Boys are in third but only one point adrift with two games in hand over the Citizens.

And Johannes, 32, feels that City have, in the past, shown their worth against the PSL heavyweights and anticipates the Mother City-based side will yet again rise to the occasion at the Cape Town Stadium this evening.

“It’s just a matter of executing the coach’s tactics and game plan to perfection. It will also be important for us to be tactically disciplined as well,” Johannes tells snl24.com/kickoff.

“In our victories against the top teams you’ll notice that we had did everything the coach asked us and that’s why we got the positive results.

“That is also why we have a good home record thus far. I think we only lost to Baroka and Platinum Stars here in Cape Town and I know the boys and I would like to keep it that way as well,” says the Cape Town-born player.

Victory for either side will certainly take them a step closer to the coveted Premiership title and Johannes is also well aware of the threat Gavin Hunt’s troops pose.

"I have never played under Gavin [Hunt] but I know what he is all about. Especially with the current Wits side. They have quality and intelligent players that can hurt you in a blink of an eye,” he adds.Coo

“So you have to be focussed for 90 minutes. They will also be a difficult side to break down. But that said, we are not too worried about the opposition. What matters is that we execute the coaches plans and rise to the occasion,” Johannes concludes.
