The Brazilians suffered a 1-0 defeat to The Rockets in a DStv Premiership clash at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday.

Vilakazi came back to haunt his former side since departing ahead of the new season.

"You could see that Vila having trained with us, who is a very smart, intelligent person, for the entire pre-season played a little bit to their advantage.

"Because he has so much intel, and they knew 150% the weaknesses of our team.

"But be that as it may, we could have played better. We know we can play better.

"We know we also had a couple of players not in their regular momentum, intensity and personality.

"But that is preparation, and preparation is always down to us as the coaches.

"If the team is not well prepared in relation to duels and the physicality and intensity, then we have to look at ourselves first.

"Then check how we prepared the team, and hopefully, we can prepare the team better for the next match."

The Brazilians are set to host Kaizer Chiefs in their next league match at the Loftus Versveld Stadium on Saturday.
