Ryan Moon targets 15 points from Kaizer Chiefs' remaining league games

Chiefs’ title hopes are all but dashed as they currently find themselves trailing log leaders Orlando Pirates by 11 points, with just five games remaining.

Their recent league form has also left plenty to be desired, having won just two of their last seven encounters, including a shock defeat at home to Baroka last weekend.

But their hopes of ending their trophy drought remain alive with a Nedbank Cup semi-final on the horizon, and Moon believes finishing strongly in the league is also crucial – beginning with their trip to Thohoyandou for Saturday’s clash with relegation-threatened Lidoda Duvha.

“We are looking at winning the five remaining league games to set the tone. We want to finish the season on a high note,” Moon told his club’s website.

“It won’t be easy though. They play at home and they have a very explosive side. They work together as a team.

“We, on the other hand, should focus on what we do best and on our own strength.”

The lanky 22-year-old has seen his role diminish in his final season at Naturena, managing just one league start during Giovanni Solinas’ time at the club in October last year, but has since welcomed the recent minutes given to him by Ernst Middendorp.

“I am happy with the opportunity given to me. I want to help the team move forward and get results,” he concluded.
