SAFPU meets with stranded Highlands Park players after TS Galaxy takeover

The Lions of the North have been sold to lawyer Tim Sukazi along with all their professional players, but have been left stranded with no jobs as the team prepares to relocate to Mpumalanga.

Players like Tapuwa Kapini, Sifiso Mbele and Limbikani Mzava are some of the players with no guarantee of a place in the squad next season yet they still had contracts with Highlands Park.

SAFPU deputy general secretary Calvin Motloung has confirmed there was a meeting with the players in their offices in Johannesburg on Thursday.

"Yes, we had a meeting with the players today. Everything went very well and we heard their side of the story," Motloung tells KickOff.com.

"Our next step now is to engage with Highlands Park and try to find solutions. The players still have contracts with the club and they have been told they are not part of the team [at TS Galaxy]. They can't be left stranded like that."
