Senegal international Nestory Mendy fails to earn contract at Wits

The 21-year-old, from the Diambars club in his homeland, made his international debut against Mexico in February and had hoped to win a contract with the Clever Boys.

However, Wits CEO Jose Ferreira has confirmed to snl24.com/kickoff that he is no longer training with the team.

The club has also released midfielder Keagan Jacobs, who was signed from Scottish Championship side Livingston ahead of last season but made little impact, managing only a single substitute appearance in a 4-2 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns last August.
