Bidvest Wits defender Sifiso Hlanti admits it's an emotional subject but has broken his silence on Gavin Hunt's rant aimed at him on live TV.

The Bafana Bafana international, who is one of the most in-demand left-backs in the country, gave away a penalty in the 2-0 loss to SuperSport United last Saturday when he opted to dive for a ball.

"It's not something I would like to talk about at the moment. You see my brother I will end up being emotional, that's why I don't want to talk about it, hhayi!" Hlanti tells KickOff.com.

"This seems to involve a lot of people you see. He [Hunt] is the one who knows what he meant. What makes me not want to talk about this is because it will appear as if he has a problem with me. So I don't want it to get there.

"A lot of people have been calling me and I tell them, 'My brothers please, let's not make this thing worse.' The one who said that is the one who will answer you see. There's nothing I can say really."

So how is his relationship with Hunt at the moment?

"No it's right my brother, it's right. Me as long as I'm working... you know my brother in football after such things, the fight gets worse. So that's why I'm saying my brother, there's nothing I will say.

"I don't want to defend myself. I also don't want to criticise anyone. I'm right, I'm on speaking terms with everyone.

"We are all focusing on the job at hand, I'm only working. I don't have a problem with anyone. All along I've been working. When duty calls, I work. Working but at the same time adding value in the team.

"I respect my job you see because you can't make internal issues public for the sake of trying to secure your job or whatever."

Wits general manager Jonathan Schloss as well as Hunt could not be reached for comment.
