Siphiwe Tshabalala: Agent responds to Kaizer Chiefs return rumours

accreditation

Tshabalala, 35, has been a free agent since leaving Turkish outfit BB Erzurumspor in July last year after they were relegated from the Super Lig.

And after a prolonged spell out of the game, rumours have emerged in local media that the two-time Absa Premiership winner, who spent 11 years with Amakhosi, is set for an unexpected return.

However, his agent Jazzman Mahlakgane has denied talks have opened but admitted he can't confirm nor deny whether the club is considering a move for his client.

"No, we haven't spoken to them, even before the COVID-19 lockdown there was no communication from Kaizer Chiefs," Mahlakgane tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"There's no way that [talks] could start now, whatever that rumour is [about Tshabalala] it's unfounded and not true.

"At the end of the day one of the things that becomes very difficult [to comment on] is that if someone from inside [Chiefs] had internal discussions and someone is trying to be clever and let it out. It just hasn't reached me or Shabba at the moment.

"If there is talk within the club about Shabba, it's not reached us. From where I'm sitting I have not spoken to anyone at Chiefs."

The 91-time capped Bafana Bafana winger won eight trophies in his spell at Chiefs after joining the club from Free State Stars in 2007.
