Chiefs recently signed eight players, including former Mamelodi Sundowns captain Ramahlwe Mphahlele and midfielders Keagan Buchanan and Enocent Mkhabela.
The Glamour Boys hope to better their fifth-placed finish in the league in 2015/16.
“When it comes to next season… I think the team is more strengthened. The team was still balanced in terms of depth in the squad. I think even last season the team could have done better with the squad that they had because the quality is still there,” Nkosi says.
“Chiefs signed seven (8) players… players who are going to bring value to the team. They’ve signed a few defenders in an area which is crucial in a team that’s looking to challenge for silverware.”
Nkosi suspects Zimbabwean recruits Edmore Chirambadare and Mitchell Katsvairo will prove especially handy based on their performances for Chicken Inn in the CAF Champions League.
“They’ve also got a few youngsters that they’ve brought in and also players from Zimbabwe (Edmore Chirambadare and Mitchell Katsvairo). We know that Zimbabwe is known for producing real, real, real good players.
“I’ve watched the team that they (Chirambadare and Katsvairo) are coming from when they played against Mamelodi Sundowns. I was very impressed. In fact there were a few players that were very good… actually more than five including the two players that Chiefs signed.
“Going to next season it’s just for the coach (Steve Komphela) to help the players properly towards the right direction and have them endorse his philosophies and his ideas… I think that’s crucial going forward for Kaizer Chiefs,” concludes Nkosi.
