Chippa United have confirmed their first signing under coach Lehlohonolo Seema as midfielder Sizwe Mdlinzo returns to the club ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Mdlinzo previously spent two seasons at Chippa before leaving to join then newly established TS Galaxy in the First Division back in 2018.

The 28-year-old was recently released by Galaxy, with reports suggesting a bust-up with coach Mabhuti Khenyeza was the cause behind this.

His time with The Rockets was not fruitless, however, as he played a huge role in helping the club to their maiden piece of silverware when they beat Kaizer Chiefs to the Nedbank Cup in 2019.

Seema will be hoping to bring the best out of the diminutive attacker, who can play both centrally and out wide, and could fill the gap left by Ruzaigh Gamildien, who has since moved on to Premiership new boys Swallows FC.

The club has confirmed that he has penned a deal for the next three seasons.
