Steve Lekoelea believes Muhsin Ertugral's knowledge of Kaizer Chiefs gives Orlando Pirates an advantage

Pirates have won the Carling Black Label Champion Cup four times compared to the one victory for Chiefs and Lekoelea is confident that under Muhsin Ertugral his former side can't go wrong.

“I think Muhsin (Ertugral) will make sure that we win this derby," Lekoelea said at Maponya Mall in Soweto yesterday.

"Why? Because our advantage is that Muhsin knows Kaizer Chiefs very well, from players to management.  But I know that it’s not going to be an easy derby – and there’s no friendly when Chiefs and Pirates meet - it's war!”

Lekoelea was part of the crew (Dj Tira, Dj Cleo, Siyabonga Nkosi, Fabian McCarthy and Edward Motale) who were with some of the fans in the Carling Black Label Champion Cup bus driving around Soweto yesterday promoting the first Soweto Derby of the new season.

On the topic of Steven Pienaar, Lekoelea is convinced that were the former Everton player to join Pirates he would add plenty of value to the outfit.

“Steven Pienaar is a great player. I think if Pienaar can come to Pirates it will be a big bonus,” Lekoelea said at Maponya Mall in Soweto.

However, despite Lekoelea's interest in seeing Pienaar in the PSL sources tell snl24.com/kickoff that the 34-year-old is more likely to make a move to China or the MLS.
