SuperSport to offer rejuvenated 'Tyson' new contract

DStv Premiership side SuperSport United are preparing to offer club captain Thulani Hlatshwayo a new contract after impressing this season.

Hlatshwayo joined SuperSport at the start of the 2022/23 campaign after a difficult two-year spell at boyhood club Orlando Pirates.

'Tyson' as the former Bafana Bafana captain is largely known enjoyed a renaissance after signing a one-year contract with Matsatsantsa in July 2022 with the option of an additional year.

The 33-year-old was named SuperSort's Player of the Season during the club's end of year awards on Monday. 

"Tyson initially signed a one-year contract. The club are now in discussions with his representatives with a view to extending it," a club insisder tells KickOff.

Gavin Hunt's side are set to participate in the CAF Confederation Cup next season after finishing in third position in the standings.
