'Tebza', the son of Pirates legend Percy 'Chippa Chippa' Moloi, paid tribute to Mpengesi after being named Absa Premiership Coach of the Month for November on Monday.

He told United's website: "I first want to thank the chairman for affording me the opportunity to coach the club. I could not have achieved this without the support from the technical team, office staff and the players. I am grateful for 100% support I have received from everyone since my arrival here.

"I have enjoyed every moment working with the chairman. He understands football and wants to see a coach being the best he can be at his job. His life is about football 24/7 and he wants to talk about football all the time, and as a coach, you have to make time. He loves, lives and breathes football.

"My father used to tell me a lot about Orlando Pirates chairmen of yesteryears. Mr Mpengesi resembles a typical chairman of Orlando Pirates years gone by. I relate to his feelings when we lose a match, draw or win. He made his feelings known after the draw away to Free State Stars because he understands the type of players we have on the team and their capabilities.

"I am grateful to him for bringing me here and I hope this is a start for the club," added the former Bucs star and assistant coach.
