Modise joined the Brazilians from Soweto giants Orlando Pirates in a sensational move in January 2011. Five years later, Modise has lifted two Absa Premiership titles, the Nedbank Cup and the Telkom Knockout trophy at Chloorkop.
The former Bafana Bafana international is proud of his recent achievements, but his hungry to lift the elusive MTN8 cup that is missing from his CV.
"I think the last four years have been the best of my career - I've achieved a lot," he says.
"I can't complain, I've won four trophies. The only trophy I haven't won is the MTN8 - hopefully I will win it.
"If you asked me five years ago [if this was the best move of my career], I would have said no - nobody knew what was going to happen. I took a chance with Sundowns and Sundowns also took a chance with me and it worked out."
Modise hopes to still be able to make a solid contribution at Downs as he seeks more glory in Pretoria.
"I'm grateful that I'm here,” he said. “Let's hope with the remaining seasons in my career I will still be able to progress in whatever they [the club] want to progress in."
