Former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Thamsanqa Sangweni has resurfaced in Eswatini at Mbabane Highlanders.

Sangweni has been without a club since leaving Maritzburg United in 2019.

The KwaZulu-Natal-born midfielder was set to join Sekhukhune United in the GladAfrica Championship this season but the deal fell through.

Sangweni has since crossed the border to seek employment.

According to sources in Mbabane, Sangweni started training with 'Inkunzi' as Highlanders are popularly known in the Kingdom on Wednesday.

"Thamsanqa Sangweni is expected to sign with Mbabane Highlanders after he started training with them yesterday," a source tells KickOff.com.

Other former PSL players who have plied their trade in the neighbouring country include Phumlani Mkhize, Benedict Vilakazi, Steve Lekoelea and Junior Khanye.
