Tottenham Hotspur fans have hit out at the club's new third kit on social media

The kits are made by American company Under Armour, who are in the fifth and final year of their contract with Spurs and have looked to go out with a bang.

The gold third kit, with the 1980s-style thin stripes, took a battering on social media with fans calling it among the worst ever seen in the English league.

That is perhaps going to far, but it is certainly not all that pleasing on the eye.

Fans are likely to only have to put up with it for a single season though with Spurs expected to announce Nike as their kit supplier from the 2017/18 season onwards.

The north London club open their Premier League season away at Everton on August 13, which could mean a debut for Kenya international Victor Wanyama, who arrived from Southampton last month.
