Tottenham Hotspur's English Premier League title hopes have taken a dent

The result leaves Spurs four points behind leaders Chelsea, but having played a game more and with just three matches remaining in the campaign.

Chelsea can extend that advantage to seven points and virtually assure themselves the title when they host second-bottom Middlesbrough on Monday.

It means Spurs could be set for the runners-up spot for the second season running in the Premier League, having last year lost out to shock champions Leicester City.

The only goal of the game for West Ham was scored by Argentine forward Manuel Lanzini on 65 minutes, with Spurs having close to 70 percent of the possession, but unable to find a way through.
