Assistant coach Arthur Zwane praised his side's resolves as Kaizer Chiefs clinched an important 2-0 win over Sekhukhune United following a difficult two-week period overshadowed by a Covid-19 outbreak.

Goals by Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Phathutshedzo Nange ensured that Chiefs reclaimed second position in the DStv Premiership standings.

Speaking after the final whistle, Zwane praised the club's determination to get back to winning ways after a tough two weeks.

"It's been a very, very tough fortnight," Zwane said post-match.

"The players returned to training in drips and drabs and we produced a good performance this evening which was amazing.

"We didn't expect such a good performance especially as we couldn't prepare thoroughly as we would have loved like we usually do.

"But everything happens for a reason and we thank God for giving the boys the strength considering where we come from."

Chiefs - second in the DStv Premiership standings - next face a trip to Royal AM for a league clash at Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 15:30.
