While the West African nation fell short of qualifying for the continental showpiece for the first time since 2002 after the 1-0 defeat to Florent Ibenge's side, winger Terrence Tisdell concedes they left with no regrets.
"It was a very good game with lots of good players and it's important for our team and young players like me to be a part of fixtures like this," the 21-year-old tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"It was a great experience for me and games like this with a huge amount of supporters making that amount of noise is games you can’t just forget in your career."
The Sanjoanense winger, who is a teammate of Amajita starlet Kobamelo Kodisang, went on to discuss the offer from the 1995 Ballon d'Or winner.
"Yes [we were aware of it], but the players were not thinking about the cash after the game," Tisdell said.
"But rather to be a part of the Nations Cup, as that was all every player wanted for our country, that pride and honour that comes with making history.
"I feel very good and somehow not so good we didn’t make it but we put our best and the effort was great."
Tisdell has scored one goal and registered three assists in his first six caps since making his senior debut.
